This fly is based on Bob Popovicís Simpleclone style of tying. It is simply a blend of angel hair and kinky fibre tied over sheep fleece then coated with silicone. Most flies are tied to imitate bait of one kind or another. This particular fly is tied to imitate a well known plug that was made to imitate bait. The names most spin fishers know it by are chicken scratch bomber and school bus bomber. It is a highly effective swimming plug. Here ís the recipe.

Materials:
Short shank hook from 1 to 4/0 (Eagle claw 254ss, Varivas990s )
Thread Danvilles ultra fine mono.
Sheep Fleece Yellow
Angle Hair/kinky fiber Blend using polar ice and florescent yellow angle hair and yellow kinky fiber
Eyes red stick on size 3
Yellow grizzley hackle
Silicone GE House glue

Tie in a clump of yellow sheep fleece at the eye of the hook.

Tie in 1 yellow grizzly hackle on each side on the top half of the fleece.

Tie in 10 to 20 strands of the angel hair/kinky fibre mix on the bottom of hook at the eye. Attach at the middle of the material with 3 or 4 wraps then fold back and make 4 more wraps.

As in Step 3, tie in similar bunches on each side, then on top. Whip finish.

Using a popsicle stick, apply a coat of silicone starting at the eye and ending just behind the hook bend. Start at the bottom, then each side, then top.

Add eyes, then apply a dab of silicone over each eye.

With a finger or popsicle stick dipped in Photo-Flo, pat and work the silicone from the eye to the bend, smoothing and shaping as you go. Youre done!
